Since signing from Manchester City in the summer of 2022, Gabriel Jesus has proven to be an incredible signing. He was heavily involved in the great team of the 2022/23 season, which pushed Manchester City all the way in the title race. However, one thing which has proven to be a let-down is the Gabriel Jesus injury record, which the club are concerned about.

So much so that according to the Daily Mail, Arsenal have shortlisted four striker options for the summer transfer window. It is believed that Mikel Arteta would like to strengthen in this position for output, but also because he can not rely on Gabriel Jesus to be fit all of the time.

The report states that Arsenal are currently eyeing up Victor Osimhen of Napoli, Ivan Toney of Brentford, Joshua Zirkzee of Bologna and Viktor Gyokeres of Sporting.

Those are definitely some big names, so it's no surprise to see that Mikel Arteta is considering them. It is a common criticism of Arsenal that the one thing they lack is a proven goal-scorer. It's easy to apply this label when the main competitors in the league are Manchester City, who have an absolute robot banging in goals for them.

But it is true that to make up the difference and push harder for the title, Arsenal need to sign a proven goal-scorer. In my opinion, Ivan Toney is the best option from the list in this regard because not only is he prolific but he's proven he can do it at the top level in the English Premier League.

He is also the most realistic option of the list, since Arsenal have already been given signs of encouragement from Brentford and the player himself.
