Arsenal could grant standout midfielder a new contract extension
According to Football Insider, Arsenal have noticed the excellent form of Jorginho and would like to reward him with a new contract. It is believed the club has learned of Jorginho's wishes to extend his stay by two years, a wish they are willing to grant. Currently, Jorginho is only under contract until this summer, after signing for 18 months in the January transfer window last year.
Fans didn't expect much of Jorginho when he first signed, I think that's fair to say. He was viewed as a stop-gap signing and a short-term solution for a longer-term problem.
Perhaps the biggest compliment to Jorginho is that now his contract is coming to an end, fans want him to stay. While he may not start every game, he always gives his all and he is one of the most valuable squad members for Mikel Arteta.
Not many players can impact the game like Jorginho can. During high-pressure moments, Jorginho is often the player Arteta calls upon because he has an incredible ability to slow a game down, in the best possible way. His composure is second-to-none and he would certainly justify a two-year contract extension.
Do you think Arsenal should tie Jorginho down to a new contract?
