Arsenal transfer news - Mikel Arteta prepared to push for Amadou Onana signing

One of the biggest names to be linked with an Arsenal move in the summer is Amadou Onana. The Gunners' interest in the towering Everton midfielder has been well-documented, with many believing he is the primary transfer target for Mikel Arteta this year.

According to a new claim from Caught Offside, Manchester United and Arsenal are prepared to submit offers for Amadou Onana. It is believed to be a two-horse race as the price demanded by Everton could be too high for Barcelona, leaving the Premier League duo to battle it out.

Arsenal are in a great place between now and the end of the season to push for a place in the Champions League next season, which seems to be the minimum objective. Furthermore, they have more quality in their squad, so Onana would be partnered in the midfield with world-class talents Declan Rice and Martin Odegaard - Seems like an easy decision, to me.

Arsenal transfer news - Gunners involved in Joao Palhinha race

According to a report from Football Insider, Arsenal are within the race to sign Joao Palhinha from Fulham in the summer transfer window. They have been mentioned alongside Bayern Munich, Liverpool and Chelsea.

However, I'd take this report with a pinch of salt. If Arsenal do push to sign Amadou Onana, then Palhinha would be surplus to requirements.

Arsenal transfer news - Aaron Ramsdale keen to leave

According to Football Insider, Aaron Ramsdale has made a decision about his Arsenal future and he would like to leave the club. This doesn't come as too much of a surprise, given that he is second-fiddle to David Raya - Where fairly or unfairly, this is the decision Mikel Arteta has made, so it seems only fair that the club allows Ramsdale to leave to chase his dream of playing routinely for England.

David Raya is one of the 5 Arsenal players with contracts expiring in 2024, however, the plan is for Mikel Arteta to sign his countryman from Brentford permanently. After all, he has proven to be a great asset to the club with his commanding of the box and immense distribution skills.
