Arsenal have impressed massively over the last few seasons by beating some big clubs but this week, they face their biggest challenge yet under Mikel Arteta. They will host Bayern Munich in the 1st leg of their Champions League quarterfinal tie which is important for many different reasons.

Throughout history, particularly in the latter stages of Arsene Wenger era, Bayern Munich toyed with Arsenal many times. Under Mikel Arteta, this is the perfect opportunity for the Gunners to demonstrate their improvements in recent history.

The game will undoubtedly be decided by team performances, despite the world-class talent on display. For Arsenal, Martin Odegaard is a crucial player in both regards; both as an individual AND how he impacts the team performance. As the captain, he will be hungrier than most to claim the win on Tuesday night, heading into the 2nd leg more comfortably.

Of course, there is another angle from which to view this game. It is the first time that Arsenal foe Harry Kane will face the Gunners this season. Without a doubt, Kane has been Bayern Munich's best player this season, continuing the goal-scoring momentum he had whilst in England.

Needless to say, he has a great goal-scoring record against Arsenal. But this doesn't mean that the current crop of Arsenal players should fear Kane. After all, they are better equipped than most Arsenal teams to deal with a player of his class.

This message has been relayed by Martin Odegaard. As per Football London, Odegaard said:

"(He's) a good player, of course, and I have played against him a few times and we know the quality he has in the box and he is also good in the link up, We are facing a good team on Tuesday. I think we should respect him but I don't think we should fear anyone and we should focus on ourselves and the quality we have in our team. And that is all."

Absolutely brilliant mindset, Martin. This is why the Norwegian magician is the captain because he always remains level-headed and brings his A-game regardless of the competition. If there's anyone the Arsenal players can trust to approach a game of this magnitude, it's Odegaard.

Kane is undeniably a great player (we can finally admit this now he plays elsewhere) but William Saliba and Gabriel have dealt with tougher strikers.
