West Ham vs Arsenal preview: Prediction, team news & lineups
- Arsenal have lost to West Ham twice already this season
- The Gunners' title dream was dealt a crushing blow at the London Stadium last April
- West Ham haven't won a Premier League game in 2024
After securing a statement win over Liverpool last weekend, Arsenal must follow up with another victory on Sunday as they visit West Ham.
The Gunners were outstanding against the Reds, putting the Premier League on notice as they re-established themselves as legitimate title contenders. However, that win will count for little if they fail to extend their winning run to four games this weekend.
West Ham outsmarted Arsenal in the reverse fixture after Christmas and were efficient going forward, winning 2-0. However, David Moyes' side have endured a poor start to 2024 and head into this one having been thumped 3-0 by Manchester United last time out.
The Hammers also got the better of Mikel Arteta's side in the Carabao Cup earlier this season.

West Ham team news
The Hammers have generally been injury-free this season, but they will be without star playmaker Lucas Paqueta this weekend as he continues to nurse a calf injury.
Michail Antonio also remains out for the hosts, with the forward suffering from a knee issue.
Mohammed Kudus has returned from AFCON following Ghana's early elimination. He's started West Ham's last two Premier League outings.
Arsenal team news
Oleksandr Zinchenko picked up another injury last week and was withdrawn at half-time. If he isn't fit to start on Sunday, Arteta could turn to Jakub Kiwior or Takehiro Tomiyasu, who has returned from international duty.
Doubts remain over Gabriel Jesus' knee, with the Brazilian perhaps earning minutes off the bench if he is fit to feature. Kai Havertz could continue up top.
There have been positive updates regarding Jurrien Timber, but he's still a few weeks away from returning yet. Thomas Partey and Fabio Vieira both remain out.

West Ham vs Arsenal score prediction
West Ham were a bogey team for Arsenal in 2023. They've beaten them twice already this season, and it was in east London where the Gunners' title hopes were dealt a crushing blow last term.
Thus, the visitors will be looking to slay a few demons this weekend.
Fortunately, they'll be facing a Hammers side that have looked pretty dire in 2024 and are undoubtedly less potent without the off-the-cuff brilliance of Paqueta. Nevertheless, Moyes' style has the potential to catch Arteta out again on Sunday.
But, surely this Arsenal side aren't going to lose three times to this West Ham outfit in a single season? While the hosts will be desperate to respond to last week's defeat at Old Trafford, this re-emerging Arsenal team should prevail.
