Arsenal completed the deadline-day signing of Bournemouth goalkeeper, Noberto Neto on a season-long loan transfer.

Throughout the 2024 summer transfer window, there was always the feeling that Aaron Ramsdale's departure was inevitable, and so it was. The Englishman has taken his talents to Southampton where he will be the first-choice goalkeeper for Russell Martin's newly-promoted side.

For Arsenal, that left a hole in the first-team squad and filling such a void was undoubtedly paramount. After Espanyol failed to budge in negotiations for Joan Garcia, the Gunners turned to their leading alternative in Bournemouth's Neto.

As one of the four newcomers to the club, here is what fans can expect from this signing.

Before Neto arrived in England to play for Bournemouth in 2022, he was on quite an impressive journey around Europe, and has featured for several top clubs like Juventus and Barcelona, albeit as a second-choice. With Champions League appearances to his name as well, his experience is undeniable.

Such a strong background would be particularly useful for the youth crop of goalkeepers, that has grown a little more prominent over the summer. Arsenal acquired 18-year-old talents, Tommy Setford and Lucas Nygaard, for their youth academy, while Estonian international, Karl Hein, is still kicking about at the club, and is currently impressing on loan in the La Liga.
