Arsenal and Andrea Berta aren't sitting on their hands this summer.

We have stated for the past couple of months how important it was for Arsenal and Mikel Arteta to be proactive this summer and get deals over the line as soon as they can.

Granted, with a host of needs to address, it is going to take a while for the Gunners to work their way down the transfer wish list, but as of right now, they appear to be doing just that.

A striker is the first order of business for Arteta and Andrea Berta.

There are a host of reports stating that Arsenal and RB Leipzig are in talks over the transfer of striker Benjamin Sesko, a signing that would ignite the red and white touchpaper in north London.

But the Gunners aren't done there.

Long-time target Martin Zubimendi is also reportedly close to securing a deal with the Gunners, and per multiple reports, only a medical is left before the defensive midfielder comes to north London.

So that is two top quality players that the Gunners are either moving forward with in negotiations or nearly signed altogether.

Oh and we haven't mentioned the proposed deal for keeper Kepa Arrizabalaga to serve as David Raya's backup.

So things appear to be moving in the right direction, and while some fans might bemoan the lack of movement, we have seen reports and confirmation that the Gunners have nearly completed the Zubimendi signing, and are in advanced talks with Leipzig over Sesko.

That is two fairly big dominos that could be about to fall after the Club World Cup, which most think is the hold up with several deals across the league.

So we wanted Arsenal to be proactive this summer, and while we are only two weeks into June, the club appears to be getting on the front foot, identifying targets, and then making moves to secure their services.

Granted, nothing is over the line yet, but the fact that Sesko and Zubimendi loom as the first signings of the summer, it is clear that Arsenal, Berta and Arteta mean business.
