Arsenal are set to turn their focus to signing an attacking midfielder once they have formalised a deal for Viktor Gyokeres, according to Ben Jacobs.
The Gunners have been interested in bringing Eberechi Eze to the club throughout the summer and will continue talks regarding a move for the England international this week.
Mikel Arteta's side are preparing to make a formal approach to Crystal Palace and want to know if it would be possible to strike a deal away from Eze's release clause.

Having previously shown interest last summer, Arsenal were reported to be exploring the possiblity of a move for Eze in late June with Arteta wanting to add a new attacking midfielder to his ranks.
With the versatile star high on their list of options, the Gunners made contact with his camp to discuss a potential deal, with Eze reportedly keen on making the move across London.
Talks of a move had gone quiet in recent weeks however, with the club focusing on deals for Viktor Gyokeres and Noni Madueke. Fans had feared a transfer for the latter would have meant Eze was no longer of interest to Arsenal, but that doesn't appear to be the case.
Once the move for Gyokeres is formalised, the Gunners are ready to make their move for an attacking midfielder with Eze seeming to remain the primary option. However, there is a possibility a deal could be difficult to agree.
Arsenal want to explore if a move would be possible away from Eze's release clause, that is reported to be in excess of £60million. If Palace agree to such demands then a deal could materialise, but if not, the Gunners may have to explore the possibility of selling before buying again.
Their heavy spending this summer is set to continue with Gyokeres, Madueke and Cristhian Mosquera all likely to complete their respective moves to north London this week so Arteta's side may need to tread a bit more carefully as they search the market for more additions.
There is said to be a willingness to sell Leandro Trossard, who has attracted interest from Turkey, while players such as Oleksandr Zinchenko and Fabio Vieria could also leave Arsenal this summer. Any departures would bring in a decent level of funds and would likely be put toward a move for Eze.
It isn't yet clear if Arsenal would need to sell to fund a deal for Eze though. It is likely, but if they can negotiate a price smaller than his release clause, they could have a good chance of strengthening their squad without having to lose depth.
The Gunners' priority at this current time is finalising their long-awaited move for Gyokeres, but it's great to know that they are planning for once the Swede is through the door. Signing Eze would be absolutely brilliant and there is a feeling of excitement that he will be yet another addition for Arsenal this summer.
