Predicted Arsenal lineup vs Brighton: Doubts over Saka
- Arsenal take on Brighton in Saturday evening kick-off at the Amex
- Bukayo Saka will be assessed following Friday's training
- Bayern Munich first leg to consider
Arsenal are in Saturday evening action this weekend as they travel down to the South Coast to take on Brighton.
The Seagulls have proven to be sticky opposition for the Gunners in recent years, but Mikel Arteta's side were dominant in the reverse fixture, winning 2-0.
The Spaniard is hopeful that Bukayo Saka will be involved this weekend after missing Wednesday's win over Luton Town, with Arsenal boasting a nearly fully fit squad. Jurrien Timber is the only known absentee for Saturday's game.
Predicted Arsenal lineup vs Brighton
Here's how the Gunners could line up at the Amex.
Goalkeeper & Defenders
David Raya (GK) - Raya simply can't stop keeping clean sheets! He hasn't conceded a Premier League since 24 February when Joe Willock bagged a consolation for Newcastle.
Ben White (RB) - The newly crowned joint Player of the Month is a shoo-in to retain his place at right-back. Simon Adingra will give White something to think about.
William Saliba (CB) - It was a great week for Saliba, whose PR continues to thrive. Let's hope he stays fit for the run-in this time around!
Gabriel (CB) - The under-appreciated Brazilian was very good again in midweek after starring at the Etihad. Brighton's interchanges will give Arsenal's centre-backs food for thought, but they'll certainly be up for the challenge.
Takehiro Tomiyasu (LB) - With Oleksandr Zinchenko's levels continuing to drop, there's no chance he starts on Saturday. Kiwior wasn't great in Manchester, and Takehiro Tomiyasu could get the nod.
Midfielders
Jorginho (DM) - Rested in midweek as Thomas Partey got a start, Jorginho is likely to come back into the side given his form in 2024.
Declan Rice (CM) - Expect Rice to be marauding forward in the left channel on Saturday after playing a more withdrawn role last weekend. The midfielder only performed a cameo in midweek.
Martin Odegaard (CM) - The superb skipper shone against Luton Town, and this feels like another contest where he'll come to the fore both with and without the ball.
Forwards
Bukayo Saka (RW) - Friday's training session will determine whether Saka plays on Saturday after he missed out on Wednesday. While Arteta has Bayern to consider, I think the winger starts this weekend given the significance of every domestic fixture.
Kai Havertz (ST) - Havertz will be treading water on Saturday given the number of bookings he's accumulated this season. Should he fail to see yellow, the German won't be earning a two-game suspension during the run-in.
Gabriel Martinelli (LW) - The Brazilian has been eased back in since recovering from a foot injury, and Martinelli could get an hour under his belt ahead of Bayern's visit.
