The quarter-finals of the World Cup have almost all been finalised. Two out of the four ties will see Arsenal players up against each other.
England vs Norway
England has a strong Arsenal contingent which consists of Bukayo Saka, Declan Rice, Eberechi Eze, and Noni Madueke. Rice has been a rock in midfield for the Three Lions and even filled in at right-back in the latter stages of their win over DR Congo.
Saka and Madueke are both competing for a spot on the right wing. Madueke began the tournament as first choice, with Saka still suffering from an Achilles problem. However, Saka started against Mexico in their round of 16 victory, with Madueke being left on the bench.
Eze has had a limited role at the tournament so far. He has made just three substitute appearances. However, he is competing with Jude Bellingham and Morgan Rogers for the attacking midfield role.
These English Arsenal players will come up against their club captain, Martin Odegaard, next. The Norwegian midfielder had a disappointing campaign on an individual level for the Gunners. However, he is reminding fans what he can do with three assists in four games so far at the World Cup.
Spain vs Belgium
Spain also has a strong Arsenal presence with David Raya, Mikel Merino, and Martin Zubimendi on their roster. Despite being regarded as one of the best goalkeepers in the world, Raya is Spain's backup goalkeeper to Unai Simón.
Merino has featured in all of Spain's games so far, but has started just once. He was their hero against Portugal, as he scored the winner in added time. Despite having a great season with Arsenal, Martín Zubimendi is yet to play at the World Cup. Luis de la Fuente favors playing Rodri and Pedri ahead of him.
Belgium has Leandro Trossard, who is still technically an Arsenal player. However, he is set to join Besiktas after the tournament, after the clubs agreed a €20 million deal.
The other Arsenal player still involved at the tournament
William Saliba is also still at the World Cup with France. They play Morocco in the quarter-finals. He has played 90 minutes in all but one of Les Bleus' matches so far. The only game he was rested for was their final group stage match against Norway, with his side already through. If France gets past Morocco, then Saliba's side will be up against either Spain or Belgium in the semi-finals.
